Ask what a typical week involves

A list of “remote activities” may hide setup time, charging, troubleshooting, or repeated reminders. Ask for the frequency, expected duration, and any required windows for tasks.

FDA guidance describes trials with decentralized elements, which can include local healthcare visits or home visits as well as telehealth. Confirm which parts still require travel.

The consent process should explain the study's purpose, risks, procedures, privacy, and participation choices. A convenient app cannot replace that understanding. The relevant decision is whether the actual commitments and protections fit your circumstances, not simply whether the study uses modern technology.
